Defense Preparation
This is the part where we go over simple preparation strategies that improve your chances of successfully defending your beach or even avoid being attacked in the first place.
Upgrade Your Defenses
The tip sounds dumb but it works. Higher level defense buildings can protect your base from being destroyed easily. Although you may be inclined to buff up your offense first such as landing boats and gun boats, it gets harder at higher levels since you will most likely lose all of your resources when being raided.
In general, you want to keep your offenses one step ahead of defense. Loot all the resources that you need, and spend them immediately to upgrade defense buildings or armory. But if your defenses fall too short of your offense, you may get attacked quite often and lose it all.
Use Your Resources
When you keep your resource number low, you are less likely to get attacked. The main reason that people want to raid your base is for your resources, if you have none, they are less willing to attack you and risk their troops for nothing.
Make sure that you upgrade your armory and radar first so that you can keep on using those overflowing gold. And use the upgrade that costs the most wood to keep your wood low, unless you are saving up to upgrade your boom beach HQ. The less resources you keep on hand, the less likely you will get raided.
Build Out Statues
The power up effect of statues is what makes offense more attractive in the game. You need to continuously attacking other bases to fragments, shards, and crystals. Build out those statues to improve your own defense capability.
Upgrade Your Vault
The idea is similar to keep your resources low. With an higher upgrade level of vault, you protect more of your resources which means that enemies can receive less. So after you have finished upgrading your main buildings like the HQ and armory, switch over to your vault first before upgrading the rest of your defenses.

Sniper Tower Unlock: HQ Level 1
The Sniper tower is the first defense tower that you unlock. Sniper towers does a single target damage which can be overwhelmed easily when attacked with multiple troops. It has a long range of damage while a decent rate of fire.
Basic Sniper Tower Strategy
Shield it with other base buildings to prevent enemies from attacking the sniper tower. Since they have a decent range, it is better to spread each of the sniper towers out so that they will not be taken out together. Shield them individually with different utility buildings.
Machine Gun
Range: Medium
Rate of Fire: Fast
Target: Spread Fire
Damage: Low
Machine Gun Unlock: HQ Level 4
The Machine gun is a defensive building that you build against low HP units. It sprays out bullets and can quickly take out low HP units like the Rifleman or the Zooka units. However, it is really ineffective against high HP units.
They usually deal the most damage when a group of attackers are standing in one spot shooting. So they are best to be placed next to a build with good amount of HP.
Mortar
Range: High with small middle gaps
Rate of Fire: Slow
Target: Single target with splash damage
Damage: Low
Mortar Unlock: HQ Level 3
The Mortar’s attack is slow yet the splash damage can works wonders against low HP enemies like the rifleman or Zooka. Mortar’s function is very similar to how machine guns work except that Mortar has a wider range with some “blindspot” holes in the middle. Because of the defense blindspot, it is usually the best if you can support it with other overlapping defenses.
Cannon
Range: Medium
Rate of Fire: Very Slow
Target: Single target
Damage: Very High
Cannon Unlock: HQ Level 6
The cannon is the best cannon killer with double the damage against tanks. However, it’s slow rate of fire makes it relatively weak to the swarm attacks of basic rifleman. It is best to cover your cannons with infantry killing defenses.
Flamethrower
Range: Small
Rate of Fire: Continuous
Target: AoE
Damage: High
Flamethrower Unlock: HQ Level 9
Flamethrower is one of the most deadly defenses against light HP infantries. The damage is continuous and they will leave a short damage over time effect after the damage had been done. Only the short range attacks are its down fall.
Boom Cannon
Range: Medium
Rate of Fire: Fast
Target: Single
Damage: Very High
Boom Cannon Unlock: HQ Level 12
The boom cannon deals tons of at a pretty fast speed. It is the strongest defense buildings in the game. However, they are still relatively weak towards a massive swarm of infantries. Complete your defensive line up by protecting your Boom Cannon with
Rocket Launcher
Range: Very Wide with big inner ring blindspot
Rate of Fire: Very Slow
Target: Multiple Missiles with splash damage
Damage: High
Rocket Launcher Unlock: HQ Level 12
Mines
Range: None
Rate of Fire: None
Target: Triggered on Contact
Damage: Medium
Mines are best to be placed at locations that you know the enemies are the most likely to tackle. They are a nice additional to your defense line up to wear down the enemies first. Although the tanky units can just take the damage, they are deadly to infantries and zooka.
