SD Gundam Leveling Guide Introduction
This non cash leveling guide is geared towards non cash non vip players in a relatively new server (1~2 days old server). Use all of these tips to obtain those early levels faster in the game and keep your edge. Please note that this leveling guide works great for beginners to setup their teams in the beginning of the game.
If you start the servers late in the game, your levels might not be high enough to hold down the mine battle positions.
If you are a cash player, depending on your budget and fund, you can do heavy cash spending capsule rolls to get stronger S or SS units right off the bat. Or you can get more Hero refreshes and vitality purchasing to level up faster.
In this guide, we will hit some of the key points to help you progress and hit that level 50 in under 7 days or a week. Lastly, this guide touches upon some basic functions of the game without going deep into the features nor the stats.
1. Leveling Guide Starting Setup
a. Game Start Timing
The timing of when you start playing matters. You want to have a good time buffer before the server time resets at 12:00 EST. The reason is that many items such as Arena, Mining, and Levy attempts all reset at midnight. By starting too close to the server reset time, you would not have enough time to build out and train your resources.
b. Adding Friends
Getting that initial friends is important to get your friend roll. As soon as you start in a new server. You should get as many friends as you can as you can get more friendship points when you levy and when they levy you for silver.
Use the Capsule to do a 1 or few friendship rolls to obtain some starting gundam mobile suits. Ideally you want to use a good C unit in your starting team, if you are actually lucky enough to get a stronger A or B units replace with Exia or your Sword Strike I.
In a nutshell, you add friends by double click their names and click on adding. You can also leave message on the chat screen, check the friend list by pulling out the menu and click accept application.
It should be noted that there is currently no way for you to delete your friends once you add them. So do not go all out to add all of them at this point.
You can levy and PvP your friends up to 6 times per day per reward. You can still fight friends after the limit for no rewards.
c. Getting the gift pack
Make sure you collect from the Novice giftpack to obtain the A rank Exia unit right in the beginning. http://sd.joyfun.com/gift.
Other than the gift pack mentioned above. Check to see if the server is offering other events such as adding friends, level up, and others. Taking advantage of those offers is key for you to have more resources to level up much easier and faster.
2. Initial Team Setup
The best starting team that you should strive for is a combination of ABC teams at the beginning of the game. The reason being that you want to have a main team to break down the instance missions for maximum EXP gain. However you also need to have a super strong reinforced unit in each of the mine battle tiers to be able to hold down the mines.
If you use the friendship capsule, you should almost likely to get a decent C starting unit. Your Sword Strike I starting unit is your B tier, and lastly you have the Exia from the novice gift pack.
Throughout your first couple days of consistent playing, continue the team setup of building and reinforcing your team of ABC’s. As you level up further and get more pilots, you want to gradually get a full team of A’s and B’s and move onto S.
3. Instances Pushing
The instances are divided into Main and Hero in the game. You should never repeat the past instances if you get stuck. Simply train your units more so that they can handle the stages.
While pushing for the Instances, try to maintain three start rating by not letting any of your units die. The work will pay off in the long run in terms of higher silver levy from workshop.
Main Instances
Your goal is to never waste your Vitality with the past stages and only push for the main instance quests. It should be noted that you do not use any of your Vitality points if you fail the missions, you only use the Vit points when you successfully beat the stage.
This means that you should always at least attempt for higher level stages before splitting up your teams to take over mines.
Hero Instances
Hero instances are actually much more important to push for than the main instances. The main reason is that they drop decent starting units for non-cash players while dropping test types that are used for leveling your suits, as well as important cores to upgrade your suits skills.
This means that as long as you have spare vitality points, pump those into the hero instances first as you can only do them once per day. By not doing and getting the test type drops, you will soon find that your suits are too weak to complete the main instances.
4. Fail Repeated Quests to Conserve Vitality
When you fail a repeated quest, you do not use any of your Vitality while still being to get the repeated quest requirement. This means that you can effectively gain the reward by using a weak team to fail the quests. To fail the quests, switch in a weak Gundam unit into your main formation team.
By failing the quests and collecting the rewards, you will save numbers of repeated quest requirements * 5 vits.
5. Gundam Leveling Strategy
The key to keep on pushing main instances is to make your gundam suits stronger.
a. Upgrade Evolution Center Often
Ideally you should upgrade your Evolution Center as often as you can. The key to leveling fast is to continue the main quests without having to slow down or play any of the past stages. This means that you should always be placing your gundams in the training slots offered by the Evolution center.
Note: Do not use up all of the slots in the evolution right away, you will receive a quest asking to you to do relatively early.
b. Absorbing Gundams
Do not absorb your Gundams right away in the beginning. Save a couple and train them using the evolution center first before absorbing them into your main or mine team. This way you can keep your main team’s level much higher to help you pass through the instance quests.
6. Officer Importance
Recruiting
Right in the beginning, you will care less about talents and pilot stats rerolls. Upgrade your officer schools as your levels permit. Check back often and hire all of the officers into your team. You will need to grab them to fill up your team to take down the mine nodes early on.
Once you have filled your team of pilots, you can be a little more selective for whom to recruit and hire.
Pilot skills do not really matter at this stage, however, pick up any pilots with any skills for later uses.
Officer Admin Training
You should not worry about your officer pilot’s stats in the beginning until you have level up your Officer Admin Center to a higher level. Your Gundam and the officer’s grades will play a bigger role. Thus, save your Wisdom points earlier on to use them for stats reset later.
7. Mining Nodes Defense
Once you reach level 20, you can start battling for the mining nodes. When you are first starting, it can be hard to take down the nodes without first leveling up your Gundam suits. However, your goal is to start early and rush to be ready before the rest of your peers.
To successfully take down a mine that’s owned by NPC units. You will need the following.
a. One level 19~20 units fully reinforced.
b. Two level 10 units fully reinforced.
A ranked mining mode. If you have picked up Exia, it is time to move your A ranked pilot from the Sword Strike I into the Exia once the initial 2 hour training period is over (you placed him into the training center during tutorial).
B ranked mining mode. Once you level and reinforce the Sword Strike I into level 20’s, he can potentially take down the B nodes.
C ranked mining mode. The C rank mines should be the first that you tackle and hold for the long term. Start training your C rank mining team early is key to prevent it from being overtaken by other players. You can rush take it initially with two level 10 fully reinforced C ranked units.
Note: You can improve the chances of you holding down the mine spots if you use Gold or Wisdom to boost your attack and defense. But as a free non gold player, you should never use gold to improve the attack or defense.
Other EXP Sources
Some other lesser impact EXP resources are the following:
Arena Fight
Do all of your Arena fights daily to exhaust the attempts.
