Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Card Effects Overview

The different card effects in Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM can be divided into a couple of categories. They can either effect your monster’s power, your health, and destroying of the monsters and spells outright. Because of such, we have divided to effects into these major categories for you to better combine the different Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM card effects and maximize your game play potential.

Power Related Effects

These are the card effects that will directly effect the power of your monster cards. These will be your main effects to strive for especially at the beginning of the Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM game.

Positive Power Effects

We will go over all of the effects that can directly increase the power of your Monster cards.

Boost / Boost All:
This type of cards will boost your monsters depending on the more detailed description based on either all monster cards, specific types, or their elements. By using this type of card effects often, you will strengthen your monsters power.

Courage:
The card will gain power when its the only card on the field. You can make the most out of this card when you place it on the right most side. The courage effect can activate when the rest of your Monster cards die in the middle of the turn.

Consider combining this effect with Fragile and Self Destruct to clear the field of your own monsters. However, although the power gained from this effect can be significantly, by having only this card on the field, you leave yourself open to attacks for the other two slots. Use this effect sparingly because it can be hard to pull off.

Drain:
The Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Drain effect will grant your monster power when the opponent suffers life damage. You can combine this effect with other direct damage spell cards or monster cards with direct damage ability. In terms of effect, I like this more than the Empathy type decks effects. Because Drain guarantees a more consistent power gain where Empathy can be a double edged sword.

Rage
The Rage card effect will boost your monster’s attack when you lose Life Points. This card effect is best combined with a deck that has plenty of backfire or sorrow effects. With every loss on your Life point, your monster will gain the additional power back.

Negative Power Effects

Cripple / Cripple All
This is a common type that is a direct counter from boost. You can decrease the power rating of any monster cards dependent on their type and element.

Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Power Double Effects

Under the power related category, I have categorized Empathy effect under double effect.

Empathy Effect
Empathy can either gain or lose power depending on whether or not you gain or Lose Life Points. Because of such, you will have to combine Empathy card effects with monsters or spells that heal you.

Osmosis:
The Osmosis card effect in Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM is quite useful. It drains the power of the opposing monster while buffing yourself. This can create a instant power gap between you and your opponent’s monster. Thus this acts as a debuff to your Opponent’s power while buffing your own monster card.

Requiem:
When the monster with this effect is destroy, the opposing monster will lose Power.

Negative Power Effect by Drawback

These effects are self imposed that will decrease the amount of Power that your monster cards have.

Feeble
Loses power every turn for your Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Monster card.

Timidity
Your monster with Timidity will lose power when opponent has more than two monsters in play.

Destruction / Protection Effect Types

These are card effects that can either destroy your monsters or spells, or the effects that can protect against such effects.

Immune / Immune All
Immunity grants your Monster card the ability to not lose power or be destroyed under most circumstances. Immunity also disables all effects that involve destruction such as Feeble, Timidity, Fragile, and Self Destruct, and Sacrifice. The only time that your monster may still lose power will be due to cripple all effects.

Annihilate
The annihilate effect will destroy opponent specific Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM monster types and elements. You should consider using them as side deck cards and especially against opponents with single element decks. This effect can be countered by Immune.

Destroy Spell / Destroy Monster
This effect instantly destroy the spells or monsters. As late game approaches, you will need to incorporate this strategy to get rid of strong spells or monsters.

Shared Fate
The Shared fate effect will instantly destroy the enemies. This strategy can be effective to be used and taking out strong enemy cards. However, this Shared Fate destruction effect in Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM can also be countered with Immune.

Sneak
The Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Sneak card effect destroy monsters before they attack. Consider combine this card with immune to kill your enemy’s creatures without dying.

Fragile
These are one time wonder cards that have very high power or specialty that can turn the tide of battles. Fragile monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM will be destroyed after one round. Consider protecting them with Immune such as white hole.

Sacrifice
This destroys your spells or monsters in order to activate some of the cards effects.

A special note should be made about White Hole cannot be countered by Destroy spell cards.

Self-Destruct
The Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Self destruct cards get destroyed after the round ends.

Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Life Points Card Effects

Below are all of the card effects that can directly heal or damage life points.

The heal and southe effect in Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM will directly heal the life point.
