Dungeon Rampage Review by Gamelytic
Verdict: 10/10 Must Play Game
Dungeon Rampage is a 10/10 must play game. Whether you are new to the social game stage or a veteran in the 90s, you must not miss out on this great social online action game. This unique game is a mixture between arcade style dungeon crawler and Legend of Zelda combined. If you are a gamer at all, Dungeon Rampage is a must play game of 2012 and worth your time and money.
In short, Dungeon Rampage is amazing with unique game play.
We will now list out the different unique factors about Dungeon Rampage that have enticed us.
Dungeon Rampage Game Play
The game play of Dungeon Rampage is entire fast paced action which I absolutely love. The game reminds me of old school Zelda-like action in multiplayer mode. You will hack and slash through various mobs to get to the end of dungeon. Depending on the different mobs, your team will naturally develop a strategy where tankers tank the damage and your damage dealers stay in the back.
All of the dungeon runs are timed and designed at around 1~5 minutes which are great. You do not have to sit through 1 hour+ raids to get any enjoyment out of the game. The game has multiple heroes with varying attacking styles that will keep you entertained for hours.
Character Class Development
The character class development for each Hero makes sense. It incorporates the traditional RPG elements where you can boost each as the stats as you level up. Although the best stats are pretty linear, we can expect more to come as more heroes and contents are released.
Weapon Combinations
The unique system in Dungeon Rampage let you optimize and decide the best weapon to use at different situations. Some weapons with different modifiers are better than the others. Different weapons have unique attacks and modifiers that make them powerful in different situations.
Re-Playability
Because the dungeon changes everytime, you will never play the same dungeons other than the boss levels. The ability to switch to and from different heroes make the game having more replyability.
Monetization Model
I personally enjoy the monetization model currently implemented by the developer. Mostly everything can be earned via coins and the money only pets are not overpowering. Although the new heroes can cost quite a bit of coins to be earned but that’s where the money spending comes in. I have personally paid some money for pets and new heroes to avoid the gold grinding myself.
Cons:
Grinding: While playing through the game, I find it increasingly harder to grind for gold and XP. However, you do not need to be the highest level to finish the game at its current setting, it is still hard and time consuming for more hardcore players to get that level 100.
Random Team Grouping: The completely random grouping effect makes it hard to get decent team mates at times. Having a weak team can be frustrating at higher dungeon levels.
Dungeon Rampage Verdict:
Again, we want to stress that Dungeon Rampage is a must play game of the year. If you play Facebook and online games at all, you should definitely give the game a try. Compared to all the boring leveling and questing of the typical online game, a nice simple hack and slash is just what we need to be refreshed in the mundane gaming routine.
The length of each dungeon is also set well at roughly 1~10 minutes. I find it more appealing to the majority of the social and casual gamers. The ability to join in and out of dungeons without limitations make it a great fun game.
