Infernal Abyss Basic
You can recruit for infernal abyss dungeon just like you do with any other Aura Kingdom dungeons at any time. The Infernal Abyss dungeon itself is located in Ventos Prarie and have a level requirement of level 55. You can teleport into the dungeon just like you would with your regular dungeon instances.
However, you can only enter the actual dungeon itself during the time when Abyss is “open”. You will have to touch a fire crystal to enable the timer so that you can start rushing the dungeon. Note that as long as one of the party member touches the fire crystal, the entire team’s flame clock is activated. You will then have 20 minutes to beat the dungeon floors with your team. Make sure that your entire team member is ready and loaded before you rush to touch the fire crystal.
The time that Infernal Abyss is available is at the following period: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday with 8 hour reset times. You can still enter the dungeon when it’s “not” open but you will not be able to actually play the dungeon. You can enter up to 4 time a day if you enter the dungeon before 6 am of the available day since the dungeons resets at 6 am.
The key is to kill as fast as you can, move as fast as you can, and stay alive to advance through the floors.
Infernal Abyss Party Setup
To properly progress through Infernal Abyss without much trouble, you must have proper party setup. You should have the following setup.
1. Tank (Usually Guardian)
2. Bard
3. Boss DPs: Gunslinger, Duelist, or Katar Preferred, Sorcerer can Work too to debuff Zaahir for faster kills..
4. AoE Ranged DPS: 1 or 2 Wizard OK. 1 Grenadier at most. 1 Ravager at most.
Note that if you have anyone with high enough gear to survive Zaahir’s boss attacks, they can act as a tank as well. The key is that if your entire team dies, at least one person needs to stay alive to prevent the boss from resetting. The person also has to deal enough damage output to keep the aggro of the boss.
There has been a few melee classes strong enough to take his hits up to the first couple reincarnation of the bosses. However, a well geared Guardian still functions better at end levels, given that the team is good enough to move through the floors.
Note: You can also run the dungeon without guardians for another DPS. You can move through the initial floors faster but may get stuck gets later levels when mobs start hitting harder.
Preparing Your Infernal Abyss Gear
Getting the right set of gears is essential for your success to run Aura Kingdom Infernal Abyss dungeons successfully.
Defense
The best and easiest way to reduce damage is by wearing a fire elemental armor. It can reduce the amount of fire damage taken from the mobs.
Tanks and Bark: Consider wearing the HP orange gear for both top and bottom as your roles are mainly supportive.
DPS: Consider wearing defensive gear for the top set and offensive gear for the bottom set. You can start the dungeons by using full damage sets during the first couple of floors and switch them for defense at later times to avoid one shot kills.
Note: HP/DEF > EVA for Infernal Abyss
With Infernal Abyss, Zaahir is “reincarnated” every 5 floors which can make him much higher level than you. This means that most of his attacks will actually land on you no matter how much your EVA is. Thus, it is much better to focus on your HP and defense rather than using EVA build. The only exception to this rule is that if you are at your content’s level cap with 95% EVA, then you can do OK defense wise. However, without fully upgraded and proper gears, your DPS will suffer as a result.
Offense
In this section we will not discuss generic ways to boost your DPS. However, we will note some key information that will help you deal more damage for Infernal Abyss dungeon.
Blue Weapon Enchantments: Sometimes blue weapons can have a stats buff that deal an additional 30% damage to certain elemental monsters. You can consider using a sub weapon with the enchantment that deals +30% to flame monsters.
Secret Stones: The best way to deal additional damage is to get 6% crit damage + damage % towards flame monsters.
Beirut Card: The boss card obtained from the Beirut bunny boss in Otherworld: Port Skandia lets you deal an additional 18% damage toward flame monsters. The card is enchanted onto costume hats.
Tactical Mastery: By default you should have the -DEF, your goal is to clear dungeons as fast as you can. You can also use -DMG or -CRIT to improve your survival ability.
Eidolon Setup
Eidolons will help you clearing dungeons faster. Your team should have at least 1 of the following Eidolons. The other two can be random.
Tigerius Ceasar (Increase Movement Speed)
Bel-Chandra, Uzuriel (Crit Damage Buff)
Consumeable Buff Preparation
This section discusses all the consumeable buffs that will make your party even more efficient in getting through Infernal Abyss.
Class Party Buff: Each of the class members can cast their class party buffs that will buff the entire party member. Coordinate with your part mates to make sure that no one will cast overlapping buffs. The party buffs will have to be recast every time you pass to the next hall (after defeating Zaahir), since the buffs disappear on your party members after going through the portal.
Food and Drink Buffs:
The best buffs are the ones that deal double or triple damage. The key is to dish out as much damage as you can to clear the dungeons fast. You can also get movement speed foods as much of the time is wasted on walking.
Alchemy Buff:
You can obtain an alchemy potion Elixir of Flame that deals additional 10% damage to flame attribute targets for 20 minutes. The potion requires 5 Crest of Flame and 1 Alchemical Powder to make. It requires level 60 to use.
Other Preparations
You can also bring these items with you to Infernal Abyss runs.
Potions: Not really necessary if you are DPS, as Zaahir at higher level can one shot you. However, you may want to bring potions as a Tank or Bard since you should stay alive for your party members.
Feather of Revival: Bring it if you are rushing for higher Infernal Abyss levels.
Useful Strategy
In this section we will go over some dungeon running strategies and guidelines to help you move along faster.
Zaahir Fights and Movement
Always move around when your fighting the boss. Avoid using skills that lock your movement if possible or time them in between Zaahir’s AoE skills. You will have an easier time to dodge his ranged attacks if you constantly move. In additional to the defensive benefit, you can also sneak in additional normal attacks in between your skills casts which improve your DPS output.
Mob Position
The key to move through the floors is to clear out the mobs fast. The main thing to make that happen is to “mob” the monsters so that they bundle together as you advance. You always want to mobs to be together so that everyone can use their AoE skills on all the mobs. Sometimes you can see people attacking different monsters across the room which can waste considerable amount of time.
As a tank, you generally want to go straight in the middle so that you can get aggro of the mobs in the middle. Melee classes should pick off the mobs next to the mobs. However, avoid the mobs AoE attacks. And lastly ranged classes should stand far away but move towards the tank if they end up aggro the monster. Ideally, if your entire team is greatly geared, everyone could stand in the middle next to the tank. However, that may not work towards later floors where the normal mobs pack a punch too.
If you notice that your Eidolon is getting the aggro, remove them so that all the monsters can return to the center mob.
Lava Pool Management
Higher Infernal Abyss floors Zaahir can cast some really nasty Lava Pool. If you are melee, you really have to wear flame armors to stand a chance inside the lava. Tanks should always try to “move” Zaahir to the edge of the lava pool or out of it complete. Melee players have to manage around it and attack Zaahir from the edge of pool where the pools are less stacked and deal less damage. It’s not impossible to tank some of the damage of the lava pool if you can manage your position well.
Time Management
It’s important for you to get a handle on how much time if left for your dungeon run. To check the timing, check the buff timer on your “Infernal Branding” buff as one of the buff. You run out of time when the buff runs out. When you run out of time during your Infernal Abyss run, you do not get kicked out of the dungeon, however you can stay and finish the floor that you are at. This means that if you die when the time runs out, you should “revive here” instead of reviving locally, reviving locally will mean that you cannot reenter into the floor.
You should stop reviving locally when you have about 30 seconds left on the timer. Although it takes roughly 20 seconds to travel across the entrance, but you would really rather be safe than sorry.
Drops and Rewards
The number one reason for you to play through Infernal abyss are for the rewards.
Level 60 Gold Weapon You will need 1000 Scarlet Fire Crystals and 50 Purple gold ore to craft into 10 Immortal Flame crystals. 10 of them can be used to craft into the level 60 gold weapon. In addition, you will need another gold material from Zaahir.
The recipes are bound at the NPC in front of Infernal Abyss. The weapons are a must since they improve your damage for the next content update in the game which is the level 65 whirlpool abyss. The weapons will give additional damage to ice attribute enemy. The dungeon will be similar to Infernal Abyss except that the mobs are ice.
You can also get the weapon from Zaahir spawns after floor 20. However, the weapon drops are non-tradable and you may get drops that you cannot use at all.
Special Weapon Crate: These boxes give you level 60 green weapons that are mainly used to craft level 60 weapons learned through recipes dropped from Sky Tower Raid
Level 65 Accessories: Mobs from Floor 15+ will drop flame accessories, these are pretty cheap to be traded to other players. The accessory set improves your fire skill damage by 60% total if you have the full set.
Zaahir: Zaahir is also an summonable eidolon and he drops Zaahir’s eidolon key and key fragments.
